These lemon pepper chicken tenders have the perfect amount of kick. They are one of my new favorite flavorings for chicken tenders.
These lemon pepper chicken tenders are super versatile! Have them for dinner, an easy lunch, or make a large batch and use them for meal prep.

Ingredients
- Chicken Tenders – I used chicken tenders, but you can buy chicken breast and cut them into strips as I did here with these Air Fryer Chicken Breast Strips.
- Avocado oil – I always use avocado oil for high-heat cooking.
- Lemon Pepper Seasoning – I used store-bought seasoning, but you can make your own seasoning.

✳️ Tips & Tricks
- Always use a meat thermometer to make sure the internal temperature of your chicken is 165F. Once the timer goes off, take the chicken out of the air fryer so you don’t dry out the chicken.
- If you don’t want too big a kick, use less of the seasonings.
Tools to make these Lemon Pepper Chicken Tenders in the Air Fryer
- Cosori Air Fryer – this is my favorite air fryer. The large air fryer basket makes it so easy to cook your favorite recipes
- Tongs – tongs are easiest to remove and flip the chicken
- Meat thermometer – You always want to make sure the internal temperature of ANY chicken is 165°F.
How to make Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Chicken Tenders
- Add chicken tenders to a gallon-size ziplock bag. Pour the avocado oil over the chicken and toss the chicken around.
- Then add the lemon pepper seasoning to the chicken and seal the bag shut. Removing all the air from the bag. Toss the chicken around to make sure they all get coated in the seasoning.
- Transfer the chicken tenders to the air fryer basket and cook at 390F for 12 minutes.
- Once the timer goes off, check the internal temperature and make sure it’s 165F.
- Remove from the air fryer basket and serve.





Oven Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400F.
- Add chicken tenders to a gallon-size ziplock bag. Pour the avocado oil over the chicken and toss the chicken around.
- Add the lemon pepper seasoning to the chicken and seal the bag shut. Removing all the air from the bag. Toss the chicken around to make sure they all get coated in the seasoning.
- Transfer the chicken tenders to a baking sheet and spray the top with avocado oil.
- Cook for 20-22 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Remove the chicken tenders from the oven once they are golden brown. For best results, let the chicken rest for 3-5 minutes before eating.
Substitutions
If you don’t have chicken tenders, you can take a boneless, skinless chicken breast and cut it up into chicken strips.

What to serve with Lemon Pepper Chicken Tenders
These lemon pepper chicken tenders are great on top of salads or served with mashed potatoes and green beans.
How to store
- Store leftovers in an airtight glass container for up to 5 days.
♨️ How to reheat
Remove the lid from the container and microwave on high for 1 to 1.5 minutes or until the chicken is warm. Alternatively, you can transfer to a microwave-safe plate to warm up.
If you want to warm this up in your air fryer, cook it for 2-3 minutes at 400F.

How long does it take to cook chicken tenders in the air fryer?
Cook the chicken tenders at 390F for 12-14 minutes depending if they are breaded or not.
Why is my chicken tenders soggy from the air fryer?
You need to cook the chicken in a single layer. If you overlap the chicken it will not cook properly.
Should I put oil on chicken before air frying?
Some recipes call for oil and some don’t. I use avocado oil for high heat cooking.
