Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken Tenders

Chicken tenders are a fan favorite no matter what age you are. With only two ingredients, you’ll love this easy recipe.

All you need is my Homemade Teriyaki Sauce and chicken tenderloins. If you’re a huge fan of Teriyaki, cheese out these Teriyaki Chicken Thighs, Teriyaki Chicken Breast, and Teriyaki Chicken Legs.

Ingredients

  • Chicken Tenders – You can buy chicken tenders or you can buy chicken breasts and cut it up into chicken strips like I did in this air fryer chicken breast strips recipe.
  • Homemade Teriyaki Sauce – This easy teriyaki sauce is perfect for any chicken recipe. You can even make a large batch and store the extras in the refrigerator.

✳️ Tips & Tricks

To ensure that the chicken stays moist, check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. Once they reach 165F, remove them from the air fryer. Don’t overcook.

Tools to make this Teriyaki Chicken Tenders in the Air Fryer

  • Cosori Air Fryer – this is my favorite air fryer. The large air fryer basket makes it so easy to cook your favorite recipes
  • Tongs – tongs are easiest to remove and flip the chicken tenders halfway through.
  • Meat thermometer – You always want to make sure the internal temperature of the chicken is at least 165F.

How to make Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken Tenders

  1. Place the chicken tenders on a plate and pour the teriyaki sauce over the chicken.
  2. Move the chicken tenders around to ensure they are fully coated in the sauce.
  3. Transfer chicken tenders to the air fryer basket.
  4. Cook at 390 for 14 minutes flipping halfway through.
  5. Once the timer goes off make sure the internal temperature is 165F before removing.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

Oven Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Spray avocado oil on a cooking sheet.
  3. Place chicken tenders one a plate and pour the teriyaki sauce over the chicken.
  4. Move the chicken tenders around to ensure they are fully coated in the sauce.
  5. Transfer to the baking sheet and cook for 20 minutes. Making sure the internal temperature is 165F.
  6. Remove from the oven and serve.

Substitutions

If you don’t have chicken tenders, you can slice a large chicken breast into strips to mimic chicken tenders. You can also use chicken cutlets as well.

What to serve with Teriyaki Chicken Tenders

These chicken tenders pair great with white rice or even teriyaki vegetables. You can also cut the chicken tenders up and make yourself your own rice bowl or chicken fried rice. Top them with sliced green onions, sesame seeds and parsley if you’re feeling fancy.

How to store

Store leftovers in an airtight glass container for up to 5 days.

♨️ How to reheat

Remove the lid from the container and microwave on high for 1 to 1.5 minutes or until chicken is warm. Alternatively you can transfer to a microwave save plate to warm up.

If you want to warm this up in your air fryer, cook it for 2-3 minutes at 400F.

Yes, you can use your teriyaki sauce as a marinade.

Can you marinate chicken in teriyaki too long?

Marinate the chicken for a minimum of 30 minutes and a max of 24 hours. If you marinate it too long the acid from the marinade may start to degrade the chicken.
