Air Fryer Chicken Thighs and Potatoes
Chicken thighs are one of my favorite things to make in the air fryer. They come out perfect every time. They are super easy to make. I also made this super easy Air Fryer Chicken Breast and Potato Recipes
This recipe is so simple and easy that anyone can make it. I’m a potato girl, and this curbs my cravings for mashed potatoes!

Ingredients
- Potatoes – I used russet potatoes
- Avocado oil – I always use avocado oil for high-heat cooking.
- Seasonings: salt and black pepper, but you can also add Italian seasoning, rosemary, or herbs de Provence. Even fresh garlic would be great too!
- Boneless skinless chicken thighs – You can use bone-in chicken thighs
- Fresh lemon (to be juiced)

Tips & Tricks
To ensure that the chicken stays moist, check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. Once they reach 165F, remove them from the air fryer. Don’t overcook.
If your potatoes are large, you may need to cook them separately. Try not to pile them too high in the air fryer basket because they won’t get all nice and crispy.
Tools to make this Air Fryer Boneless Chicken Thigh Recipe
- Cosori Air Fryer – this is my favorite air fryer. The large air fryer basket makes it so easy to cook your favorite recipes
- Tongs – tongs are easiest to remove and flip the chicken
- Meat thermometer – You always want to make sure the internal temperature of ANY chicken 165F.
How to make this Chicken Thighs and Potatoes in the Air Fryer Recipe
- Cut the potatoes into 1/2 inch thick slices
- Place the sliced potatoes in a mixing bowl, then pour half the avocado oil, salt, and black pepper on top and mix.
- Place the chicken thighs into a mixing bowl and add the remaining avocado oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix them together.
- Transfer chicken thighs and potatoes into the Air Fryer basket. (Depending on the size of the chicken thighs, you may need to do 2 batches.)
- Cook at 390F for 14 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
- Remove chicken thighs and potatoes, and squeeze half a lemon mainly on the chicken thighs.
- Serve and enjoy.







Substitutions
You can use baby potatoes instead of whole potatoes. Simply slice them in half.
If you don’t have boneless skinless chicken thighs, you can use bone-in thighs instead for this air fryer chicken thighs and potatoes recipe. You will just have to add a few more minutes to the cooking time. Pay attention to the potatoes, they may overcook with the additional time.
As far as seasonings go, in addition to the salt and pepper, try adding Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or even poultry seasoning.

What to serve with Chicken Thighs and Potatoes
These juicy chicken thighs and crispy potatoes are a meal in themselves, but you can also add a vegetable like Brussel sprouts, asparagus, or green beans for a little bit of color.

- Store leftover chicken and veggies in a glass airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- For meal prep, you can freeze a meal up to 3 months
How to reheat
Transfer the air fryer chicken thighs and potatoes recipe to a microwave-safe plate and microwave on high for 1.5-2 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165F.

- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ lemon
Instructions
- Cut the potatoes into 1 inch slices/cubes.
- Place the cubed potatoes into a mixing bowl and pour half the avocado oil, salt, and black pepper on top and mix together.
- Place the chicken thighs into a mixing bowl and add the remaining avocado oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix them together.
- Transfer chicken thighs and potatoes into the Air Fryer basket. (depending on the size of the chicken thighs you may to do 2 batches)
- Cook at 390F for 14 minutes flipping them halfway through.
- Remove chicken thighs and potatoes and squeeze half a lemon mainly on the chicken thighs.
- Serve and enjoy.
