Air Fryer Shake N Bake Chicken Tenders are a delicious easy dinner idea. In only a few steps you’ll have dinner ready in under 20 minutes.
Air Fryer Shake N Bake Chicken Tenders
Shake N Bake Chicken is a big hit in our household. I’ve already made these Shake N Bake Chicken Breasts and Shake N Bake Chicken Thighs. The good thing about Shake N Bake is that it’s always constantly delicious!
Shake N Bake seasoning is very convenient to have on hand. All you have to do is add the seasoning into the bag and shake it away. Shake N Bake was introduced in 1965 by General Foods.
These Air Fryer Shake N Bake Chicken Tenders are designed to be put in a bag with the seasoning and “shake.” I didn’t do that step, but they still came out delicious. You can also use my “bowl method” if you try to stay away from plastic as much as possible.

Ingredients
- Chicken Tenders: I bought store-bought chicken tenders. If you can also take a chicken breast and cut it into strips as I did here with Air Fryer Chicken Breast Strips.
- Egg: large eggs and I try to get local or free-range when available
- Milk: I like to use Fairlife milk, but your favorite unflavored milk will work also
- Shake n Bake: They have different types, but you can use any. I used the original one.
✳️ Tips & Tricks
- Always use a meat thermometer to make sure the internal temperature is 165F. Once the timer goes off, take the chicken out of the air fryer so you don’t dry out the chicken.
- Shake N Bake comes with a bag so you can toss the chicken into the eggs then place it in the bag and add the shake n bake.
Tools to make this Shake N Bake Chicken Tenders in the Air Fryer
- Cosori Air Fryer – this is my favorite air fryer. The large air fryer basket makes it so easy to cook your favorite recipes
- Tongs – tongs are easiest to remove and flip the chicken
- Meat thermometer – You always want to make sure the internal temperature of ANY chicken 165F.
How to make Air Fryer Shake N Bake Chicken Tenders
- In one bowl crack your egg and add your milk. Whisk them together.
- In another bowl add in your Shake n Bake seasoning.
- Place the chicken in the egg wash making sure you get both sides. Next, transfer the chicken into the Shake n Bake seasoning. Flipping the chicken over and make sure its completely covered in the breadcrumbs.
- Transfer the chicken over to the air fryer basket.
- For crispy chicken – spray the chicken with avocado oil spray.
- Cook the chicken for 14 minutes at 390F. Flipping the chicken halfway through.
- Once time goes off. Make sure the internal temperature of the chicken is 165F.
- Remove from the air fryer basket and serve.
Oven Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400F.
- In one bowl crack in your egg and add your milk. Whisk them together.
- In another bowl add in your Shake n Bake.
- Place the chicken in the egg wash making sure you get both sides. Right away transfer the chicken into the shake n bake. Flipping the chicken over and make sure its completely covered.
- Place the chicken into a baking dish and transfer to the oven.
- Cook for 22 minutes flipping the chicken over halfway through. Make sure the internal temperature is 165F.
- Remove from the oven and serve.
Substitutions
- If you don’t have chicken tenders, you can slice a large chicken breast into strips to mimic chicken tenders.
- If you can’t find Shake n Bake seasoning packets, some stores will have their own brand or bread crumb mixture that you can buy.
What to serve with Shake N Bake Chicken Tenders
I had these Shake and Bake Chicken Tenders for lunch and served them on top of a salad with hard boiled eggs, cheese and ranch dressing. They have the perfect crunch to them.
Another great serving option and my guilty pleasure are these Homemade Mashed Potatoes.
How to store
- Store leftovers in an airtight glass container for up to 5 days.
♨️ How to reheat
Remove the lid from the container and microwave on high for 1 to 1.5 minutes or until chicken is warm. Alternatively you can transfer to a microwave save plate to warm up.
If you want to warm this up in your air fryer, cook it for 2-3 minutes at 400F.
