I honestly don’t know how I went so long without going to a Trader Joe’s, and now I have to stop there every time I’m in town.

Let me tell you these chicken sausages are full of flavor! Imagine Italian sausage but made with chicken. They’re that good.

One bite and you will have the juice running down your face. These chicken sausages are packed in an all-natural pork casing so you still get the snappy texture when you bite into it!

There are different kinds of chicken sausages. When you think chicken sausage your mind probably thinks of the ones like Applegate or Aidells. These chicken sausages are more similar to the shape of Italian Sausage or Brats.

To ensure that the chicken stays moist is to check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. Once they reach 165F, remove them from the air fryer. Don’t overcook.

For a better-fitting bun, you may want to buy hoagie rolls.

  • Tongs – tongs are easiest to remove and flip the chicken sausage
  • Meat thermometer – You always want to make sure the internal temperature of ANY chicken 165F.

How to make Air Fryer Trader Joe’s Chicken Sausage

  1. Remove the chicken sausage from the package and transfer them to the air fryer basket.
  2. Cook at 390F for 10-12 minutes. until the internal temperature of the chicken sausage is 165F.
  3. Remove from the air fryer basket and place in the hotdog buns.

Oven Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F.
  2. Remove the chicken sausage from the package and transfer to a baking tray.
  3. Place baking tray in the oven and cook for 30 minutes flipping halfway through. Make sure the internal temperature is 165F.
  4. Remove from oven and place into the hotdog buns.

How to store

  • Store leftovers in an airtight glass container for up to 5 days.

Remove the lid from the container and microwave on high for 1 to 1.5 minutes or until chicken is warm. Alternatively you can transfer to a microwave save plate to warm up.

If you want to warm this up in your air fryer, cook it for 2-3 minutes at 400F.
